Sisters in the City of Brotherly Love: A Celebration of the Contributions of Roman Catholic Women Religious in Philadelphia. A panel of four religious sisters involved with various ministries throughout the city (human trafficking, literacy, immigration, domestiv violence) speak about their experience and their faith. Reception at 6pm, event at 7pm at St. Joseph’s Univeristy, Philadelphia, in the Cardinal Foley Center on Maguire Campus.
“Eggspolitation”, a documentary on the dangers of egg donation in the IVF industry, is screened in West Chester at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 7:30pm. More info available here, and check out the trailer online.

“Forming Your Conscience: The Informed Disciple.” A one-day retreat for young adults to be held at Malvern Retreat Center on Saturday October 13th. The cost of $15 (before 10/7, thereafter $20) includes lunch. This retreat focuses on faithful citizenship in the Catholic tradition, especially the duty of forming one’s conscience rightly, and does not endorse a single candidate or party affiliation. Dr. Hughes will focus on Beauty in St. Bonaventure on October 17th, and Sean will discuss sacred music in the Catholic tradition on November 14th (note date change).
