Our own Chimere Holmes pioneers the “Villanova Annual Historic Black Church Tour”, a day-long adventure into the rich history and vibrant life of the African-American Church in Philadelphia. The day will consist of church and museum tours, meet and greets with various Pastors, and a Soul food lunch in downtown Philadelphia. Vans depart Villanova at 9:30am and return by 5:00pm. “Forming Your Conscience: The Informed Disciple.” A one-day retreat for young adults to be held at Malvern Retreat Center on Saturday October 13th. The cost of $15 (before 10/7, thereafter $20) includes lunch. This retreat focuses on faithful citizenship in the Catholic tradition, especially the duty of forming one’s conscience rightly, and does not endorse a single candidate or party affiliation. Dr. Hughes and Sean McElwee come to speak at Catholic Young Adults of Chester County! Dr. Hughes will focus on Beauty in St. Bonaventure on October 17th, and Sean will discuss sacred music in the Catholic tradition on October 24th.
